The IRD is a French public research institution defending an original model of fair scientific partnership with the countries of the South and an interdisciplinary and citizen-based science committed to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Established in Kenya since 1992, the IRD East Africa supports research and training in partnership in various fields such as climate change, terrestrial and marine biodiversity, societies and communities, etc.
